Jupiter and Saturn shine brightly during early evening hours on May Day.
Bright Jupiter shines low in the west-northwest at 9:40 p.m. CDT as seen in this 30-second exposure as seen from the Chicago area. (Click the image to see it larger.) The Giant Planet appears lower in the sky each night. Later this month it appears with Mercury and Venus during bright twilight.
