Bright Jupiter shines from the western sky at 5:30 a.m. CST as seen from the Chicago area. (Click the images to see them larger.)  Jupiter is among the stars of Gemini, with its brightest stars, Castor and Pollux appearing nearby.  Procyon, part of Canis Minor is  to Jupiter’s lower left.  Compare Jupiter’s position this morning to where it was last night.

Mars is speeding toward Spica in the southeastern sky.

Saturn is low in the southeastern sky, to the lower left of Spica between Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali.
