Brilliant Morning Star Venus gleams from the southeastern sky this morning as seen from the Chicago area. (Click the images to see them larger.)  This week (February 15), Venus reaches its greatest brilliancy during this morning appearance.

Meanwhile, Mars and Saturn are in the southern sky at the same hour.  Mars is near Spica and Saturn is near Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali.
