2018, March 1: Venus and Mercury, The Evening Show

Brilliant Venus and Mercury are emerging from their solar superior conjunctions into the evening sky,  Mercury passes about 1 degree from Mercury on March 3 and again on March 18.  The image above shows them about 40 minutes after sunset.  Look with binoculars to first locate them and then without optical assistance.  Watch as Mercury passes and moves away from Venus and moves back closer again at mid-month.
