Brilliant Venus and Mars shine from the southwestern sky this evening as seen from the Chicago area.  Watch the pair as the planets move closer together during the next three weeks.  Tonight they are separated by about 10 degrees.  On the evening of February 21, they are separated by less than one-half degree; that’s about the diameter of the moon.
