September 17, 2024: The Harvest Moon shows a partial eclipse during the early hours in North America. Earlier the moon occults Saturn.  After sundown, Venus passes Spica.

2024, September 15: Gibbous Moon Nears Saturn

On September 15, 2024, the gibbous moon approaches Saturn before their upcoming occultation in two mornings, as part of the Nightly Planet Parade. In the morning sky, Jupiter and Mars are visible in the southeast before daybreak, while Venus and Saturn can be seen in the evening sky. Venus is observable with a binocular, and Saturn and the moon remain in the sky for most of the night.
